Johannes BLEICKERS
Birth:Crefeld, Germany Ref: [1]

Notes:
Johannes was one of the founders of Germantown, Pennsylvania. See, for example, "The settlement of Germantown, Pennsylvania, and the beginning of German emigration to North America", by Samuel W. Pennypacker (1899), available at https://archive.org/stream/settlementofgerm01penn#page/4 .

In "Welcome Claimants," (page 82) McCracken suggests that these Bleickers might also be the parents of Catherine, who married into the Cowgill family, also from the "Welcome" (see McCracken's pages 141-142).

Some sources suggest that Gertsie was Catherine.

Neipoth ("The Ancestry of the Thirteen Krefeld Emigrants of 1683", from "Genealogies of Pennsylvania Families from the Pennsylvania Genealogical Magazine. Volume III: Stauffer-Zerbe", p 511) suggests that Johannes might be descended from the Preyers family, from Gladbach.
