Strother B. HARDING
Notes: There seem to be two Strother Hardings (possibly related) in the vicinity of Stafford, Virginia --- One born around 1807, and another around 1812. There are two separate entries in the both the 1850 and 1860 census, although I have only been able to find one each for 1840, and 1870. The slave schedules might be for the other Strother. Summarizing: 1840: Free White Males, 30-39: 1 (our Strother B, b1807, would have been 43, implying this is the Strother b 1812) Free White Females, 30-39: 1 (our Ann would have been only 24, but this might have been a previous wife) Free White Females, 10-14: 1 (No match with later censuses, but she might have moved out by 1860) Free White Males, under 5: 1 (this could match with our Benjamin) Free Colored Females, 10-23: 1 1850 Strother (b. c1807) census collected on October 25 by James E Towson Strother (b. c1812) census collected on August 31 by James E Towson Slave Schedule collected August 31 by James E Towson (implies slaves were considered the properrty of Storther (b. c1812) 1860: Strother (b. c1807) census collected on June 30th by H. B. Barnes Strother (b. c1812) census collected on July 18th by H. B. Barnes Slave Schedule collected on July 14the, by H. B. Barnes. 1870: Only shows Strother, apparently single, age 38 (b. c1812) living with a family named Quisenbury. Additional Pictures: (click to enlarge)
